The project developed on this exhibition, under the title Contemporary Iberian Ceramic Sculpture, pretends to make an approach to the state of the sculpture made with ceramic material, in Spain and Portugal, by artists that preferably use this material as creative support.
Presented by Antonio Garrido Moreno, the exhibition curator, the congregation of three generations of Iberian sculptors along twenty five years is synthesised. It begins with the pioneers that headed the aesthetic renovation of ceramic, in the beginning of the twentieth century, to the second generation that settled ceramic on the artistic circuits, till the young creators that use a diversity of supports and techniques, adapting them to their conceptual expressive options.
