The Association of Friends of the National Tile Museum (MNAz) considers as one of its main aims to contribute to the enrichment of the museum’s collections through donations made by the group or individual initiative of its partners.

Their action in this area is developed in accordance with the Directorate of the Museum. Thus, it proposes to form a core consisting of author’s Ceramics, Portuguese and international as well as better documenting the industrial production of tile.

The Friends are, however, also mindful of other older productions in order to fill shortages in the collection, with particular types of tiles which, for various reasons, are removed from the buildings that were designed and at the Museum, which were not yet represented, will be protected from spreading.

It presents now a selection of pieces integrated between October 2007 and September 2008.
